Yet another action-packed, shambolic, tricked-out troubadour series at The Dakota Tavern running every Tuesday in December. A dense and rich night of musicians, poets and raconteurs, transcendent train wrecks and high-wire alchemy.
November 16, 2009 // Toronto, ON – Since 2007, Toronto-based musician Jason Collett has played host to a very successful, multi-disciplinary variety show featuring some of Canada’s most talented artists — musicians, songwriters, poets, and raconteurs — coming together in a cross-pollinating showcase in the intimate setting of Toronto’s Dakota Tavern (249 Ossington Ave). With great pleasure, Arts & Crafts would like to announce details for the third installment of the series titled, “Jason Collett’s Basement Revue,” which will take place every Tuesday evening this coming December.
Immensely popular, the shows sell out soon after they are announced. “Despite having to turn away so many folks interested in seeing the shows,” Collett commented, “we remain committed to the series being performed in the unique space that The Dakota provides. This atmosphere is an integral part of the intimacy of the series.”
The list of former participants is a veritable Canadian “who’s who”, including musicians Broken Social Scene, Hayden, Bryan Webb (Constantines), Buck 65 (Rich Terfry), K-OS, Al Tuck, Lullabye Arkestra, Charles Spearin’s The Happiness Project, Luke Doucet, Mellisa McClelland, The Abrams Brothers, Todor Nabakov, Celebrity Chef Michael P. Clive and poets Ken Babstock, Kevin Connolly, Damian Rogers, and Karen Solie only to name a few. Inevitably, this year’s line-up of performers will be as dynamic and entertaining.
Jason Collett just wrapped recording his fourth full-length, due in early 2010. Details to be announced shortly. Fans attending can expect to hear a number of new songs premiered throughout the revue.
